Three plans

A website needs a place to live and someone to keep it current. Three plans cover that, and all three are month to month.

Hosting and care, $97 a month. Hosting, daily backups, the updates the site needs, and small edits: replace an image, update text, remove or duplicate a section. Up to two hours of work a month. Not new pages; those are quoted separately. The hours and the prices on a site change, and this plan is how they get changed.

Hosting only, $47 a month. Hosting, daily backups and updates. No edits.

E-commerce store care, $147 a month. Hosting, backups, checkout and catalog checks, and a few edits a month. Required while checkout is live, because a store that takes money has to be looked at more often than a site that takes messages.

Whichever plan you pick, you own the website and the domain. The pricing page has every number in one place.

What is not included, and leaving

Not included

New pages. A new service page, a landing page for an ad, a page for a second location: each is quoted on its own. Local SEO is a separate service from $500 a month. Hosting only has no edits at all. If an edit on the care plan would take more than the two hours in a month, we tell you before we start.

Leaving

Give 30 days' notice. You get a zipped copy of the site and 30 days to move it before the next bill. Another designer can move it, or we move it for a one-time $147 fee once your new hosting is set up. The domain is yours and goes with you. There is no long-term contract.

What the plan is for

The plan exists so the site you paid for keeps working: backed up every day, updated when the software underneath it needs it, and edited when your hours or prices change. It is not a way to keep hold of your site. The sample websites show the kind of site the plan looks after, and the website design page shows what a new one includes.

Hosting and care questions

What counts as a small edit?

Replacing an image, updating text, or removing or duplicating a section, up to two hours of work a month. A new page is not a small edit and is quoted separately.

Are there backups?

Yes, daily backups on all three plans.

Do I have to take a plan?

A regular site can be hosted elsewhere; you own it and the domain. An online store needs the e-commerce store care plan while checkout is live.

How do I cancel?

Give 30 days' notice. You get a zipped copy of the site and 30 days to move it before the next bill.
