What a law firm site needs

Someone looking for a lawyer is usually dealing with the worst week of the year: an arrest, a crash, a divorce, a death in the family. They search on a phone, often late, and they are checking a firm a friend mentioned as much as looking for a new one. What they need to find is plain.

Which matters you take. A page for each practice area, written in the words a client uses ("I was in a wreck", not "personal injury litigation"), saying what happens first and what it costs to find out.

Who the attorneys are. A page for each attorney with a real photo, where they went to school, how long they have practiced and what they handle. People hire a person, not a firm name.

How to ask for a consultation. A phone number that taps to call, a short form, and a clear statement of whether the first conversation is paid and what the firm needs to know before it. Nothing on the form should ask for details of the matter that the person should not be typing into a website.

The notices. A law firm's site is advertising under the rules of the state bar, and it has to carry the required disclaimers, the "no attorney-client relationship" line and the responsible attorney's name. They go where the rules say, not in a footer nobody can find.

What we build for law firms

A Full site from $3,400 fits most firms: an individual page for each practice area, a page for each attorney, Home, About, Contact and the legal notices. A solo practice with two practice areas fits a Standard site from $2,450.

Practice-area pages are written from the attorney's own notes about what a client in that situation needs to know first, in plain words, with no promises about outcomes. Attorney pages carry what the attorney gives us and nothing more. The required notices are placed where the rules put them, and the responsible attorney reviews every page before launch. The form is short and does not ask for the facts of the matter. Your Google Business Profile is linked. Google does not verify or endorse these services.

Most five-page sites take 2–3 weeks; a firm site with ten or more pages takes 4–8 weeks. See pricing for what changes the number and the sample websites for the layout below.

Law firm website questions

What does a law firm site cost?

Standard from $2,450 for five pages (up to eight); Full from $3,400 with an individual page for each practice area and each attorney.

Who checks the compliance wording?

We place the notices the rules call for and mark every line the responsible attorney should read. The attorney signs off on the wording before launch; the site does not go live without that.

Who owns the site?

The firm owns the website and the domain. There is no long-term contract.

How long does it take?

Most five-page sites take 2–3 weeks once we have the notes and photos. Ten or more pages take 4–8 weeks.
